Critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon across the Caprock and western Rolling Plains. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for this area from noon through 9 PM this evening. A Fire Danger Statement is in effect from 2 PM through 9 PM this evening for the eastern Rolling Plains. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms across the far southeastern Texas Panhandle this afternoon and evening. Storms that develop may be severe, with damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and large hail up to two inches in diameter possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected Monday. The combination of strong winds, very low relative humidity, and extremely dry fuels will warrant the potential for dangerous growth and spread of wildfires. A Red Flag Warning is now in effect for the Caprock, the far southeastern Texas Panhandle, and most of the Rolling Plains between 11 AM and 10 PM CDT Monday. Low chances for storms will continue for the eastern Rolling Plains and southeastern Texas Panhandle during the afternoon and evening hours Monday. A few storms may be severe.
