This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Warm, dry, and breezy conditions will result in critical fire
weather Friday. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for a majority of
the region from 12 PM to 9 PM on Friday.

A cold front Friday evening will bring strong winds from Friday
night through early Saturday morning, especially across the far
southeastern Texas Panhandle. Sustained wind speeds could exceed 30
mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the far southeastern Texas
Panhandle from 10 PM CDt Friday until 5 AM CDT Saturday.

Thunderstorms will also be possible along the front in the Rolling
Plains on Friday night. The severe weather threat remains low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Near sub-freezing temperatures are possible across the far
southwestern Texas Panhandle and northern South Plains Saturday
morning, with sub-freezing temperatures expected on Sunday morning.
A
freeze watch is in effect for the aforementioned area from late
Saturday night through Sunday morning.

Chances of thunderstorms will return on Monday.

SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE, THE SOUTH PLAINS, AND MUCH OF THE
ROLLING PLAINS...

* Timing... From 12 PM to 9 PM on Friday.

* Wind...Southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Humidity...Ranging from 6 to 11 percent on Friday.

* Fuels...Critically dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
