This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Hot, dry, and breezy conditions will create critical fire weather
conditions this afternoon for much of the region. A Red Flag Warning
is in effect until 9 PM today for much of the area while a Fire
Danger Statement is in effect for Stonewall and King Counties.

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop across portions of
the Caprock and Rolling Plains this afternoon and evening. A few
storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Chances for storms will continue for the Rolling Plains and
southeastern Texas Panhandle each afternoon through Monday.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions will be likely each
afternoon from Saturday through Monday for most of the region.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT
FOR LUBBOCK AND NORTHERN LYNN COUNTIES...

At 616 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 3 miles west of Lorenzo to 5 miles west of Ransom
Canyon to 10 miles southwest of Wolfforth, moving southeast at 40
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Near zero
         visibility will be possible along any outflow boundary or
         stronger wind gust that occurs.

Lubbock, Slaton, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Ransom Canyon,

* Humidity...As low as 7 percent.

* Fuels...Critically dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
