FOR THE FAR SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE, THE SOUTH PLAINS, AND MUCH
OF THE ROLLING PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM CDT Thursday. A
Fire Weather Watch is still in effect from Friday afternoon
through Friday evening.

* Timing...For the Red Flag Warning, from 12 PM to 8 PM Thursday.
  For the Fire Weather Watch, from Friday afternoon through Friday
  evening.

* Wind...On Thursday, southwest at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to
  35 mph. On Friday, southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40
  mph.

* Humidity...Ranging from 5 to 10 percent on Thursday, and ranging
  from 7 to 13 percent on Friday.

* Fuels...Critically dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Warm, dry, and breezy conditions will result in elevated to critical
fire weather on both Thursday and Friday. A Red Flag Warning is in
effect for areas on the Caprock from 12 PM to 8 PM on Thursday. A
Fire Weather Watch is in effect for a majority of the region from
Friday afternoon through Friday evening.

Thunderstorm chances return to the region on Friday and again on
Monday.

A light freeze is possible over the far southwestern Texas Panhandle
and northern South Plains early Saturday morning and again early
Sunday morning.
