A couple of severe thunderstorms are possible over northern to central Maryland through 9 PM. Damaging wind gusts and hail are possible if storms form. A Code Purple Air Quality Alert for the Hagerstown to Winchester region, and a Code Red Air Quality Alert for the rest of the area, both go into effect at midnight tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday A Code Purple Air Quality Alert remains in effect for the Hagerstown to Winchester region, and a Code Red Air Quality Alert remains in effect elsewhere, through midnight Friday night. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected early Saturday morning through late Saturday evening. There is the potential for large hail, a couple of tornadoes, and damaging wind gusts (a few of which could approach 70 mph). Uncertainty remains in the exact timing and how widespread severe thunderstorms might be. In addition, very heavy rain could result in a few instances of flash flooding. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
