This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Harford County today.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of the western shore
of Maryland and eastern Virginia tonight, including Washington
DC. A mixture of snow, mixed precipitation and rain across the
region today will transition to snow, heavy at times, late

A Gale Warning is in effect for portions of the middle Chesapeake
Bay today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the western shore of
Maryland, eastern Virginia and Washington DC on Wednesday.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8
  inches are expected.

* WHERE...The District of Columbia, portions of central and
  northern Maryland and northern and northwest Virginia.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Be
  prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.


A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
