This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of
Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Washington
and Baltimore Metropolitan areas into this evening.

A Winter Weather Advisory remain in effect for Spotsylvania and
Stafford Counties in Virginia as well as southern Maryland until 4
pm this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Rain is expected Saturday through Saturday night, and possibly
into Sunday. Rain may be heavy at times. Excess runoff from
already saturated soils may cause flooding of small streams and
urban areas Saturday into Sunday. Freshwater flooding is possible
later Sunday through Monday along the upper Tidal Potomac River.

Spotters are asked to reports significant wintry weather via
normal operating procedures.

EVENING...
...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation. Additional snow and sleet
  accumulations of less than one inch through mid afternoon, then
  ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch through 10 pm.
  All freezing rain is expected to transition to rain by 10 pm.

* WHERE...Portions of central and northern Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
