This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A Flood Watch for potential flash flooding has been issued for
the entire outlook area from 2 PM until midnight.

Scattered severe thunderstorms will be capable of producing
damaging winds this afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of DC, including the following , District of
  Columbia, Maryland, including the following areas, Anne Arundel,
  Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and
  Southeast Montgomery, Charles, Frederick MD, Northern Baltimore,
  Northwest Harford, Northwest Howard, Northwest Montgomery, Prince
  Georges, Southeast Harford, Southern Baltimore and St. Marys, and
  Virginia, including the following areas, Albemarle,
  Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Central and Southeast Prince
  William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Culpeper, Eastern Loudoun,
  Fairfax, Greene, King George, Madison, Nelson, Northern Fauquier,
  Northwest Prince William, Orange, Rappahannock, Southern Fauquier,
  Spotsylvania, Stafford and Western Loudoun.

* WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Numerous showers and thunderstorms will move across the area
    this afternoon and evening. Rainfall rates of up to 2 inches
    per hour are possible, which may lead to scattered instances
    of flash flooding where the heavy rain persists the longest.
