...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Washington...
Yakima River at Kiona affecting Benton County.
.Heavy rain continues in the Washington Cascades through Thursday
morning. Rises along area rivers and streams will persist for the
next couple of days, potentially through the weekend.
For the Yakima River...including Kiona...Moderate flooding is
forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Yakima River at Kiona.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, There will be flooding of in the RV Park
in Benton City along the river. There will extensive flooding in
the West Richland area from Twin Bridge to the Columbia River,
including the West Richland Golf Course and along Kingston...Hyde
and Jones roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM PST Saturday the stage was 16.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 PM PST Saturday was 16.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage Monday
morning to 11.3 feet late Tuesday evening. It will then rise
above flood stage Thursday afternoon to 13.7 feet late Friday
evening. It will fall below flood stage again Saturday,
December 20.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
15.9 feet on 12/02/1995.
