* WHAT...Heat index values up to 95 expected.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Crow Wing, Aitkin, Pine, Koochiching, Cass,
  Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties.
  In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Sawyer, and
  Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du
  Lac Band, the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the St.
  Croix Band in Burnett County, the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation,
  the Mille Lacs Band, Hinckley, Lena Lake, Big Sandy Lake and, East
  Lake areas and the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake, Deer Creek and,
  Lake Vermilion areas. Other locations including Voyageurs National
  Park, Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
  The entire Boundary Waters is also included.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Strong winds and dry air will create near-critical fire weather
conditions for most of northeast Minnesota today.

Smoke from wildfires is expected to lead to "Unhealthy" category
air quality for portions of the Minnesota Arrowhead. Northwest
Wisconsin will see "Very Unhealthy" category to "Unhealthy"
category air quality.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Near-critical fire weather conditions are possible for parts of
the region Sunday.

More hot weather is possible Sunday and Monday. Heat headlines
may be needed.

Isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible
Sunday night and Monday.

Strong winds and dry air will lead to near-critical fire weather
conditions Monday afternoon and possibly Tuesday.

Smoke from wildfires will result in "Very Unhealthy" category and
"Unhealthy" category air quality for portions of the region Sunday
and Monday.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air
Quality Advisory for the following counties: Adams, Ashland,
Barron, Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Burnett, Calumet, Chippewa,
Clark, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Door, Douglas, Dunn, Eau
Claire, Florence, Fond du Lac, Forest, Grant, Green, Green Lake,
Iowa, Iron, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Kewaunee, La
Crosse, Lafayette, Langlade, Lincoln, Manitowoc, Marathon,
Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Milwaukee, Monroe, Oconto,
Oneida, Outagamie, Ozaukee, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Portage, Price,
Racine, Richland, Rock, Rusk, Sauk, Sawyer, Shawano, Sheboygan,
St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vernon, Vilas, Walworth, Washburn,
Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, Waushara, Winnebago, Wood.

* WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Very Unhealthy
(Purple) to Unhealthy (Red) level.

* WHERE...Statewide.

* WHEN...Until noon Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For Very Unhealthy (Purple) AQI:
Sensitive groups: Avoid all physical activity outdoors.
Reschedule to a time when air quality is better or move
activities indoors.
People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-
relief medicine handy.
People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations,
shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious
problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care
provider.
Everyone else: Limit outdoor physical activity. Go indoors if you
have symptoms.

For Unhealthy (Red) AQI:
Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities
inside. Go inside if you have symptoms.
People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-
relief medicine handy.
People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations,
shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious
problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care
provider.
Everyone else: Keep outdoor activities shorter and less intense.
Go inside if you have symptoms.

Additional Details:
Another round of smoke will move in from the north-northeast
throughout the day on Saturday before settling over the state on
Sunday. Most areas are expected to observe Unhealthy (Red) AQI
PM2.5, with the heaviest impacts to the northeast where Very
Unhealthy (Purple) AQI PM2.5 will be possible. Some areas to the
southwest may only experience Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups
(Orange) AQI PM2.5. This round of smoke may not reach the
southwestern half of the state before sunset Saturday, meaning
the smoke will arrive overnight, with statewide impacts expected
by 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
