At 404 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 17 miles south of Grand Marais to 7 miles east of Big
Bay State Park to near Cable, moving east at 65 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

extending from 15 miles southeast of Cascade River State Park to near
Madeline Island to near Seeley, moving east at 65 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

These severe storms will be near...
  Ashland, Sanborn, Cable, Namekagon Lake, Seeley, Odanah, and
  Madeline Island around 405 AM CDT.
  Marengo and Namekagon around 410 AM CDT.
  Mellen, Saxon, Gurney, Copper Falls State Park, and Clam Lake
  around 420 AM CDT.
  Upson around 430 AM CDT.
  Hurley, Gile, and Glidden around 435 AM CDT.
  Turtle Flambeau Flowage around 450 AM CDT.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Severe thunderstorms continue through early this morning for
northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Damaging wind up to
70-80 mph and heavy rainfall leading to potential flash flooding
are the main hazards. A couple tornadoes cannot be ruled out in
the apex of the bow in the line across the Arrowhead, but the
threat is lower.

Dangerously hot weather in store for today, with heat index
values from 95 to 105 degrees expected. Extreme Heat Warnings and
Heat Advisories are in effect. A conditional threat for a few
isolated strong to severe storms can`t be ruled out later this
afternoon and evening, but the potential is low. Large hail and
wind gusts up to 60 mph would be the main threats.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Dangerously hot weather is expected again on Sunday. Heat index
values from 95 to 105 degrees are possible.

Additional strong to severe thunderstorms may be possible Sunday
into early Monday, with damaging winds and large hail as the main
threats. A lower threat for tornadoes also exists in northeast
Minnesota late Sunday.

Skywarn spotters are encouraged to report hail of any size, wind
damage, flooding, tornadoes, and rainfall amounts to the National

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, North Cass, Northern Aitkin, Cook, Lake,
  Carlton, St. Louis and Itasca Counties and Wisconsin, Ashland,
  Bayfield, Douglas and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal
  Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Mille Lacs Band, Big Sandy Lake
  area, the Red Cliff Band, the Bad River Reservation, the
  northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Grand Portage
  Reservation and the Bois Forte Band, Deer Creek, Nett Lake and,
  Lake Vermilion areas. Other locations including Voyageurs National
  Park, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Madeline Island.
  The entire Boundary Waters is also included.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT this morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water
  crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - A warm front will bring heavy rainfall which may lead to
    rapid runoff and flash flooding through early this morning.
    The heaviest rainfall potential will be across the Iron Range
    into portions of the North Shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Portage and hiking trails may become slick and potentially
