...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 degrees below
  zero.

* WHERE...Price, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer,
  and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Lac
  Courte Oreilles Reservation, the St. Croix Band in Burnett County,
  the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band and the northwestern
  area of the Lac du Flambeau Band. Other locations including
  Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 degrees
  below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as
  10 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

...SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WITH REDUCED VISIBILITY THROUGH THIS
EVENING...

Scattered strong snow showers developed this afternoon and will
persist into this evening. Expect changing visibility and road
conditions in snow showers. Visibility will drop to 1/2 to 1/4
mile or less in the heavy snow showers over the span of minutes.
Snow will quickly accumulate on roads during the heavy snow
showers making driving conditions slippery.

Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads and changing
visibility. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Extreme cold is the primary hazard for all of northeast Minnesota
and northwest Wisconsin tonight. Temperatures are falling
rapidly, and wind chills will plunge to between 40 and 60 degrees
below zero. Scattered snow showers this afternoon may cause
slippery roads and reduced visibility.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Dangerous cold persists through Saturday morning. An Extreme Cold
Warning is in effect for the entire region until noon Saturday.
Wind chills will remain in the 30s to 50s below zero range.
Temperatures will remain largely below zero until Sunday.
