The snow will quickly be followed by strong northwest winds gusting over 30 mph, which will lead to blowing and drifting snow with sharply reduced visibilities, especially in open areas. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Vilas County beginning this evening due to locally heavy lake effect snow and areas of blowing and drifting snow in open areas. A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued for Door County beginning late tonight as strong northwest winds up to 45 mph result in considerable blowing and drifting snow of recent fresh powdery snow, including on the Bay of Green Bay. Sharply reduced visibilities are expected, with brief whiteout conditions possible. Wind chills of 20 to 30 below are expected late tonight, leading to hazardous conditions to anyone outdoors and unprotected. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect beginning at 3 am Monday. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday Hazardous travel is expected on Monday morning due to lake effect snow and blowing snow over Vilas County, and considerable blowing and drifting snow over Door County. Areas of blowing and drifting snow may result in poor visibilities in other open areas over central and northeast Wisconsin, including near Lake Winnebago. The Winter Weather Advisory continues until 9 am for Vilas County, and until noon for Door County. Wind chills of 20 to 30 below are expected Monday morning, then once again late Monday night into Tuesday morning. The low wind chills will lead to hazardous conditions to anyone outdoors and unprotected. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon on Monday.
