Little relief from the heat is expected tonight as heat indices are expected to drop below 75 degrees for just a few hours. A Heat Advisory remains in effect. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Monday The heat wave continues Tuesday with highs in the 90s to around 100F. Heat indices should climb into the mid 90s up to 105F. Continued or additional heat related impacts are expected. The Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will still be hot with highs a few degrees either side of 90F. Heat indices will climb into the upper 80s to 90s both days, with a few locations in central and east-central Wisconsin seeing values in the upper 90s on Wednesday. There is a chance of thunderstorms Thursday night through the weekend. It is too early to determine their severity. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Highest heat index values in far northeast Wisconsin. Overnight heat indices will drop to 70 to 75 degrees, which will still be hazardous for anyone without shelter after the heat in the afternoon. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Wisconsin. * WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
