This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Western and Central Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph will be widespread across much of the
state with the exception being northern WY where winds will be
slightly lower.

Light snow will develop over northern WY this morning as a cold
front continues to move south. Light snow showers will gradually make
their way south into portions of western and central WY by the
afternoon/evening. The heaviest accumulations in the mountains will
occur over the Bighorns and Absarokas, with 2 to 4 inches possible
and localized amounts nearing 6 inches. Snowfall accumulations of 1
to 2 inches is expected across the western Bighorn Basin and portions
of Johnson County.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Thursday Through Saturday...Widespread wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph
look to impact much of the forecast area. Hazardous travel conditions
are likely across mountain passes in northern and central WY, where
strong wind gusts in excess of 70 mph will be possible. A prolonged
period of heavy wet mountain snow is expected to begin Thursday with
the greatest impacts across northern mountains, especially the
Absarokas. A cold front passage may bring chances for light snowfall
across the lower elevations east of the Divide Saturday
afternoon/evening.

...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...West winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 85 mph possible.

* WHERE...Wind River Mountains East and Absaroka Mountains.

* WHEN...From late Wednesday night through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile
  vehicles traveling Highway 28 (South Pass) or Highway 296 (Chief
  Joseph Pass).

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light to moderate snow is likely. Greatest
  accumulations occur for the western Absaroka Mountains, while the
  highest winds occur over the eastern slopes. Total accumulations 5
  to 10 inches.
