Overnight, lighter variable winds of 5 to 10 mph. Sunday west to northwest winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph west of I-25, with winds turning southerly to easterly east of I-25. * HUMIDITY...Daytime minimum RH between 5 and 10 percent on Saturday, and between 8 and 12 percent on Sunday. Overnight recoveries of 20 to 40 percent along and west of Interstate 25 and 40 to 60 percent in Niobrara and Goshen Counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Isolated high-based showers will have the potential to produce gusty and erratic winds along with a few strikes of lightning without much, if any, rainfall during the afternoon and evening hours both Saturday and Sunday. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. WHAT...Air Quality Alert for Wildfire Smoke. WHERE...All of Southeast Wyoming WHEN...Noon Friday through Noon Monday IMPACTS...Heavy smoke from distant wildfires HEALTH INFORMATION...The Wyoming Department of Health recommends the elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory problems avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during this time. Wildfire smoke is made up of a variety of pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, which can cause respiratory health effect. Although these people are most susceptible to health impacts, the Department of Health also advises that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality conditions.
