...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast New Mexico, including the following
  counties, western Mora and northwestern San Miguel. This includes
  areas within and downstream of the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn
  scar.

* WHEN...Until 330 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1234 AM MDT, gauge reports indicated elevated flows in
    many rivers, creeks and streams within and downstream of the
    Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn scar. After heavy rainfall this
    evening, additional moderate to heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms will occur over the next few hours. This will
    cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Up to 0.5 inches of
    rain have fallen in the last hour.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Las Vegas, Mora, Tierra Monte, Ledoux, Gascon, Sapello,
    Morphy Lake State Park, El Porvenir, La Cueva and Cleveland.
  - High and fast water flows are ongoing in the Mora River near
    La Cueva. Elevated water flows will persist overnight across
    many rivers, creeks and streams.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
