This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota,
central South Dakota, north central South Dakota and northeast
South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe storms this
afternoon and evening. Main threats appear to be large hail and
strong winds. From the Coteau east there is also the threat for heavy
rain of 1 to 3 inches.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms expected through the weekend. However, no severe
weather is anticipated at this time. Main threat will be lightning.

Spotter activation may be requested. Weather spotters are encouraged
to submit reports to the National Weather Service in Aberdeen. The
public can submit reports on our web page, Facebook page, or our X
feed.

hazards include large hail and damaging winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

There will be near daily chances for thunderstorms through this
weekend into early next week. Severe weather is possible each
day.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northwest Iowa,
west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska,
central South Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central
South Dakota, and southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Wildfire smoke may cause surface impacts at times. Those sensitive
to air pollutants should monitor air quality sources.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop overnight.
The areas with the highest storm potential will be along and north
of Interstate 90. Small size and locally heavy rain will be
possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Periodic showers and thunderstorms continue into Friday. Storms
Thursday afternoon and evening may be strong to severe. The highest
potential for severe storms may be found along and west of the James
River valley as well as areas near the Buffalo Ridge of southwest
Minnesota and northern Iowa. Any thunderstorm will contain heavy
rainfall.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Degraded air quality due to wildfire smoke has prompted an Air
Quality Alert.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will produce
widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches through Friday.
Localized amounts of 4 inches are possible across portions of
central Minnesota. Degraded air quality continues through
Thursday.
