...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* WHERE...Anchorage Hillside / Eagle River.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
  cause power outages. Trees are still fully leafed, and will be
  particularly vulnerable to damage in strong winds. Travel could be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds have likely already
  peaked this afternoon, but gusts across the Anchorage Hillside up
  to 70 mph will remain possible over the next few hours. Winds will
  slowly weaken through late this evening and diminish by early
  Friday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread
power outages. Use caution if you must drive.

  particularly vulnerable to damage in strong winds. Travel could be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

  peaked early this afternoon, but gusts as strong as 60 mph will
  remain possible over the next few hours near Palmer and Butte.
