...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKDT SATURDAY...
...REPLACES FLOOD ADVISORY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...Koyukuk River near Allakaket.

* WHEN...Until noon AKDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - As of Friday morning the public reported flooding in
    Allakaket. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches
    are possible through Saturday morning.

  - The Koyukuk River below the John River crested yesterday but
    is remaining high. Models are indicating that Koyukuk at
    Allakaket could see additional water level rises of 1-2 ft
    before the river crests this evening.
  - Low lying roads are currently flooded and airport access may
    be cut off.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM AKDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by previous excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Talkeetna River.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM AKDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1052 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water
    levels from previous days heavy rain across the warned area.
    Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, especially
    near and along the Talkeetna River.

  - For Talkeetna River Upstream of Talkeetna:
    At 9:45pm the stage was 12.1 feet.
    Flood Stage is 12.5 feet.
    Forecast: A crest around 12.7 feet is expected around 4:00am
    Saturday.

  - For Talkeetna River at the Talkeetna Railroad Bridge:
    At 10:00pm the stage was 14.82 feet.
    Major Flood Stage is 15.0 feet.
    The river is expected to crest early Saturday just above
    Major Flood Stage then begin to fall.

  - For Susitna River near Sunshine:
    At 10:00pm the stage was 25.9 feet.
    Flood Stage is 24.5 feet.
    Forecast: A crest around 25.4 feet is expected around 10:00am
    Saturday.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM AKDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...the Yentna River and tributaries at and above Lake Creek.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, water begins to inundate several low-lying
  cabins.
  At 22.0 feet, more extensive flooding of cabins, resorts, and
  private property.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 545 PM AKDT, Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
    The river gage at Lake Creek and other gages across the
    Susitna Valley show considerable rises across area rivers.
    Additional rainfall amounts of around an inch are expected.

    For Yentna River at Lake Creek:
    At 5:00pm the stage was 20.9 feet and rising.
    Flood Stage is 20.5 feet.
    Forecast: A crest around 23 feet is expected around Friday
    night into early Saturday morning with an estimated crest
    time at 4 am Saturday.  The river will then begin to fall and
    is expected to go below flood stage Sunday.
    This may equal or exceed the August 2024 crest of 22.4 feet.
