...POTENTIAL REMAINS FOR SIGNIFICANT LONG DURATION SNOW EVENT
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK...

Multiple systems look to move through the region this coming
weekend and into early next week. Temperatures and snow levels are
expected to fall starting on Sunday and continue to drop steadily
through the week.

Current forecast confidence is not high enough quite yet for
warning level snow accumulations moving toward the NE Gulf Coast
and the Icy Strait Corridor, including Juneau, Gustavus, Hoonah,
& Pelican. This is primarily due to the timing challenge of when
the transition from rain to snow occurs and the amount of
resulting accumulating snowfall expected thereafter. However,
forecast confidence remains high on this staying a longer duration
event late weekend once snowfall starts, with snow and colder
temperatures continuing to move southward across the panhandle
into next week.

Stay tuned to the forecast over the coming days as forecast
confidence improves on the extent and timing of this system`s
impacts.
