Winter Weather Advisory

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Juneau AK
542 PM AKST Wed Nov 19 2025

...SNOW TO CONTINUE ON NORTHERN HIGHWAYS THROUGH THURSDAY...

.Most concern for snowfall through Wednesday evening continues to
be west of Haines towards Haines Customs and north of Skagway
towards White Pass.

The winter weather advisory was extended for the Klondike
Highway, and will now last through Thursday night. This is in
anticipation of the potential for more accumulating snow through
Thursday. Forecast confidence is low in snowfall totals during
the daytime hours, as warming temperatures aloft may reduce
accumulation totals along the Klondike Highway during this time.
However, forecast confidence is higher in accumulating snow along
the Klondike Highway through early Thursday morning, and for
Thursday night, when lower snow levels will contribute to
snowfall totals. Dense, wet snow will make up a majority of the
accumulating snow, with latest guidance further lowering snow
ratios.

Stay tuned for additional details at weather.gov/juneau.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AKST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Long duration snowfall. Additional snow accumulations of
6 to 12 inches through early Friday.

* WHERE...Klondike Highway near White pass.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates will diminish through
Wednesday evening before intensifying again late Wednesday night
into early Thursday morning. Southerly wind arrives early
Thursday morning bringing the potential for some drifting snow
near White Pass with wind gusts up to 25 mph. However, this will
also diminish confidence in accumulating snow through the
daytime hours at lower elevations of the Klondike Highway and
Skagway, as warming temperatures may prove warm enough to limit
accumulations. Forecast confidence is higher in accumulating
snow returning for Thursday evening and overnight hours on
  Thursday at the upper elevations.
