...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
6 AM EDT THURSDAY...
...GALE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, east winds 15 to 20 kt
  with gusts up to 25 kt and seas 2 to 4 feet expected. For the
  Gale Watch, northeast winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt
  and seas 3 to 5 feet possible.

* WHERE...Long Island Sound east of Port Jefferson and New
  Haven, and Peconic and Gardiners Bays.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from midnight tonight to
  6 AM EDT Thursday. For the Gale Watch, from Thursday morning
  through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and seas.
