...DENSE FOG ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...
...STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM
CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, dense fog will reduce
visibility to less than 1 NM. For the Storm Warning, northwest
winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 50 kt and waves 17 to 22 ft
expected.
* WHERE...Southern Third of the Open Waters of Lake Michigan.
* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 6 PM CST this
evening. For the Storm Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 6 AM
CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Very strong winds will cause hazardous waves which
could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Low
visibility will make navigation difficult.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.
If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
