...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following
  counties, Nassau and Suffolk.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 858 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Brentwood, Levittown, Commack, Huntington Station,
    Centereach, Deer Park, Plainview, Hauppauge, Ronkonkoma,
    Syosset, Huntington, Stony Brook, Middle Island, Port
    Jefferson, Northport, Oyster Bay, Hicksville, Coram, Dix
    Hills and Smithtown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northwestern Connecticut, including the
  following county, Litchfield.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 732 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen from
    this round of rain, with an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain
    previously.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Torrington, New Hartford, Kent, Sharon, Norfolk, Litchfield,
    Canaan, Falls Village, Cornwall Bridge, Winsted, Northwest
    Harwinton, New Hartford Center, Barkhamsted, Salisbury,
    Goshen, Colebrook, Warren, Cornwall, Cornwall Hollow and
    North Goshen.
