This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

An extended period of hot and humid weather is expected next week.
The heat index WILL rise well into the 90s Monday through Thursday,
with the hottest days being Tuesday and Wednesday with heat index
values in the mid to upper 90s.

It will not only be the impressive level of oppressive midday and
afternoon heat to contend with, but the cumulative impacts of only
having the mercury settle only into the lower to mid 70s for the
overnights, thereby extremely limiting any relief.

western Massachusetts, east central New York, eastern New York and
southern Vermont.

There is a Marginal to Slight risk for severe thunderstorms
today, mainly from the Capital District south and east. Damaging
wind gusts, large hail and locally heavy downpours will be the main
threats with any storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

A period of hot and humid weather is expected next week with the
potential for heat related health impacts in the valleys Tuesday
through Thursday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Isolated showers and storms are possible this afternoon, especially
in southern and central Vermont. A marginal risk outlook indicating
localized shortlived stronger storms capable of gusty winds is
possible in that area, mainly between noon and 6 PM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Confidence remains high in sustained heat with warm overnight
conditions next week. Temperatures in the upper 80s to mid 90s and
high dewpoints will likely result in heat indices approaching 100
Tuesday through Thursday. The experimental NWS HeatRisk product is
highlighting almost the entire region with the potential for major
heat impacts developing by next Tuesday and Wednesday. Locally
extreme heat impacts are possible Thursday.
