...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
  For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 4 to 5 feet
  in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one
  half foot of inundation above ground level expected along
  shorelines and tidal waterways (7.1 to 7.3 feet Mean Lower Low
  Water at Charleston).

* WHERE...Coastal Colleton and Charleston Counties.

* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through Saturday
  evening. For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Saturday.
  For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...This could result in some roads becoming impassable.
  Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach
  erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 5:45 PM this
  afternoon at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible
  1 to 2 hours before and after high tide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

Visit water.weather.gov for additional water level and flood
impact information.

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
