...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN CABARRUS AND CENTRAL
MECKLENBURG COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles northeast of Uptown Charlotte, or over Hidden Valley. This
storm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Downtown Concord, Kannapolis, Central
Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte,
West Concord, and Harrisburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

CENTRAL MARLBORO COUNTIES THROUGH 615 PM EDT...

At 539 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles north of Mont Clare, or 9 miles southwest of Bennettsville,
moving northeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bennettsville, Wallace, and Society Hill.
