Strong thunderstorms are possible late Thursday afternoon into
Thursday evening which could produce strong wind gusts, hail, and
heavy rain. The greatest risk will be across northwest Maine.

Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to impact the region Thursday
afternoon ahead of a cold front. There will be a slight risk of
severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds, hail, and locally heavy
rainfall which may result isolated instances of flash flooding are
possible.
Additionally, there is increasing confidence for a period of
potentially dangerous heat for the beginning of next week, with heat
index values expected to climb into the 90s. Please continue to
monitor the forecast as we get closer.

A cold front approaches the region Thursday afternoon and evening,
bringing increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms. Strong to
severe thunderstorms are possible with hail and damaging winds the
primary threats. Isolated flash flooding is possible in areas that
receive multiple rounds of showers or storms.
There is increasing confidence for the hottest weather of the year
so far early next week. The combination of heat and humidity may
produce heat index values in the middle to upper 90s.
