...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Pine, Cook, Lake, Carlton, central and
southern St. Louis and Aitkin Counties and Wisconsin, Ashland,
Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer and Washburn Counties.
This includes the Tribal Lands of the Lac Courte Oreilles
Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the northwestern area of the Lac
du Flambeau Band, the Bad River Reservation, the Bois Forte Band,
Lake Vermilion area, the Fond du Lac Band, the Grand Portage
Reservation, the St. Croix Band in Burnett County and the Mille
Lacs Band, Hinckley, Lena Lake, East Lake and, Big Sandy Lake
areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National
Lakeshore and Madeline Island. This also includes the Boundary
Waters eastern and central area.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A slow moving front will bring heavy rainfall which may lead
to rapid runoff and flash flooding this afternoon through
Tuesday night. Heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
expected with localized amounts up to around 4 inches
possible.
