.KEY MESSAGES...

- There is a 30 to 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms
  Tuesday evening into overnight. A thunderstorm or two could
  contain gusty winds or small hail.

- Temperatures will warm to above average on Tuesday, then cool
  to near or slightly below average on Wednesday and Thursday.

- Warmer temperatures will return Friday into early next week
  along with opportunities for showers and thunderstorms at times.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

A few thunderstorms are possible in northern Iowa late tonight.
Severe weather is unlikely.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

There is a chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday. A few strong
storms could occur in southeastern Iowa, but overall the severe
weather potential is limited.

Tuesday will also be breezy and dry. The strongest winds will come
in northern Iowa Tuesday afternoon, when speeds of 25-30 MPH with
gusts to around 40 MPH are forecast. Relative humidity will also
fall into the 20-30% range Tuesday afternoon, however, any
elevated fire weather concerns are mitigated by mostly green
surface fuels.

Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast at times from Thursday
night into next weekend. Any severe weather potential during this
time will be determined in the coming days.
