...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to
  110 degrees possible at times.

* WHERE...Iowa

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A heat wave will begin across Iowa on Friday
  and intensify this weekend, resulting in several consecutive days
  of dangerously hot and humid conditions that may last into early
  next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110
  possible or more.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Iowa and east
  central, northeast, and southeast Nebraska.

* WHEN...From Friday morning through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minimum temperatures Friday and Saturday
  night may not fall below 75 degrees, failing to provide complete
  relief from the heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

  during the nights, with low temperatures in the mid to possibly
  upper 70s.
