...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following
  county, Chatham and southeast South Carolina, including the
  following county, Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of
  water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 636 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with
    torrential rainfall extending from Downtown Savannah into
    coastal portions of Jasper County, South Carolina. These
    storms are slow moving and will be capable of producing a
    quick 1 to 3 inches of rain. This will result in minor
    flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Pooler, Bluffton, Tybee Island, Midtown Savannah, Hutchinson
    Island, Downtown Savannah, Hunter Army Airfield, Wilmington
    Island, Windsor Forest and Coffee Bluff.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Heavy rain in Downtown Charleston will result in nuisance flooding
of low-lying areas. Areas most prone to flooding include the Market,
Crosstown, East Bay Street and Morrison Drive. Slow down when
traveling and allow extra distance between you and the vehicle
ahead. Do not drive into water of unknown depth.

...A THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL
GREENVILLE AND NORTHEASTERN ANDERSON COUNTIES UNTIL 900 PM EDT...

At 834 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with
torrential rainfall 10 miles south of Greenville Downtown, or over
Piedmont. This storm was nearly stationary.

Locations to be impacted include...
Piedmont, Williamston, West Pelzer, Donaldson Center, Powdersville,
and West Greenville.

Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in
these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through the
evening. Localized flash flooding is the primary concern,
especially across eastern Georgia where soils are saturated. A few
strong storms may also produce frequent lightning and gusty
winds.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday...

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and
evening, can be expected each day through Thursday. Organized
severe weather is not anticipated, but a few storms each day could
become strong, capable of producing localized flash flooding,
frequent lightning, and gusty winds.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across the western
Carolinas and northeast Georgia this afternoon and evening. Heavy
rainfall leading to localized flash flooding, especially in streams
and urban areas will be the primary threat to go along with cloud-
to-ground lightning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
