TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Hot conditions with high temperatures between between 82
and 88 in Mt. Charleston, Kyle Canyon, and Lee Canyon; between 96
and 102 in Caliente, Goldfield, Dyer, and Colorado City; between
102 and 106 in Bishop, Independence, Olancha, Hiko, and Red Rock
Canyon. Moderate-to-Major Heat Risk.
* WHERE...In Arizona, Northwest Plateau. In California, Owens
Valley. In Nevada, Esmeralda and Central Nye County, Lincoln
County, Sheep Range, and Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon.
* WHEN...From 10 AM PDT / MST to 8 PM PDT / MST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat-related illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
