...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 6 PM MST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Periods of snow develop Thursday afternoon, becoming heavy
  at times Thursday night and early Friday. Gusty southwest winds as
  high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Kaibab Plateau, especially from Jacob Lake southward.

* WHEN...From Noon MST Thursday to 6 PM MST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel is not recommended as
  heavy snowfall and low visibility will create dangerous driving
  conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Forecast snowfall amounts from noon MST
  Thursday to 6 PM MST Friday...

Fredonia:         Trace to 1"      Jacob Lake:       8 to 12"
GCNP North Rim:   18 to 24"

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in

PM MST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10
  and 20 inches with locally higher amounts near 30 inches in the
  Tushar Mountains, Pine Valley Mountains, and near Brian Head.

* WHERE...Southern Mountains.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Thursday to 11 PM MST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. For winter road conditions

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO
4 PM PST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow is possible in the Spring Mountains and Sheep
  Range. 12 to 24 inches of snow possible for elevations above 7000
  feet, with locally higher amounts on the peaks. Winds could gust
  as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Sheep Range and Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty
  winds could bring down tree branches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. Call 5 1 1 for road
information.
