up to 45 mph expected.
* WHERE...Dickinson, Geary, Morris, Clay, Cloud, Ottawa, Republic,
Washington, and Riley Counties.
* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 9 PM CDT Sunday. For the first
Wind Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the second Wind
Advisory, from 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Hot
temperatures and high humidity may cause heat cramps, heat
exhaustion, and even heat stroke.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution while driving. Secure outdoor
objects.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
