North Carolina, western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop today,
mainly in the afternoon and evening. Some of these storms will become
severe, capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

There is a Slight Risk, level 2 of 5, for severe storms through this
evening. Damaging winds are the primary threats. Localized flash
flooding is also possible, mainly in urban and poor drainage areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Extremely dangerous levels of heat is likely much of next week.
The hottest temperatures of the season so far are expected.
Persistent heat with numerous record highs and warm lows, light
winds, sunny days, and lack of overnight cooling will significantly
increase the danger.

As the heat builds, limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and
ensure access to air-conditioning and other cooling areas.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north and central Georgia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

A line of storms will continue to move southward through the area
this afternoon. A few storms within this line could become
becoming strong to severe, capable of producing gusty winds
between 40-60 mph. Locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning
will also be possible with all storms.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday...

Isolated thunderstorms are expected across parts of central
Georgia through the weekend, then again across portions of north
and central Georgia on Wednesday. The potential for thunderstorms
will be greatest during the afternoons and evenings.

Heat index values will rise to between 100 and 105 degrees across
parts of north and central Georgia during the afternoons from
Sunday through Wednesday.

possible with localized runoff issues possible.

Heat index values are forecast to exceed 100 degrees across the
Tennessee Valley beginning Sunday, persisting through the end of
