central Maine, western Maine and northern New Hampshire.

Another storm will approach the area at the end of the week.
More rain is possible and any potential river rises could enhance
the threat of ice jams again.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
A period of gusty south to southwest winds are expected on Wednesday
night into Thursday, with localized gusts 45 to 50 mph possible over
the northern Adirondacks and northern Champlain Valley. If current
forecasts continue a wind advisory will likely be needed.
Rain will change to snow Thursday night into early Friday morning
with a dusting to 2 inches possible in the valleys and 2 to 5 inches
possible in the mountains above a 1000 feet. A hazardous Friday
morning commute is likely across portions of the area.
The probability of any flooding is low at this time, given the
transition to snow and less rainfall expected.

Coastal DownEast Maine, Far Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine,
Interior DownEast Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot Valley
Maine.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
The recent warmth and rainfall has led to rising rivers, which is
leading to the break-up of thinning river ice. River levels will
continue to rise, even though temperatures will drop some and the
precipitation will come to an end tonight. Localized ice jam flooding
is possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Ice jam threat will persist this week.
