...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...High temperatures up to 105 degrees expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central California.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...High temperatures of 101-106 degrees expected in lower
  elevations through this afternoon with tonight`s low temperatures
  in the mid 60s to lower 70s, resulting in widespread Major
  HeatRisk. Tuesday won`t be quite as hot, but some valley sites
  will still see highs near or above 100 degrees.

* WHERE...Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake and
  Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  heat events, particularly for those working or participating in
  outdoor activities.

* WHAT...Afternoon high temperatures between 100 and 110 in the
  valleys.

* WHERE...Esmeralda and Central Nye County and Lincoln County.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose

or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
