...REMAIN ALERT FOR PATCHY BLACK ICE ON ROADS AND OTHER PAVED
SURFACES TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING...
Refreezing of melted ice and snow will create patchy black ice on
area roads tonight and early Friday morning. Icy spots could form
on paved surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, primary and
secondary roads, parking lots, sidewalks and driveways.
Black ice is difficult to see and distinguish from dry surfaces.
The deceptive nature of black ice can catch you unaware while you
are driving or walking, causing you to lose control of your motor
vehicle or to slip and fall.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you plan to drive or walk, remain alert for black ice. Slow
your driving speed and use care when walking on sidewalks,
driveways or parking lots. Slips and falls constitute a leading
cause of injuries during winter weather.

...REMAIN ALERT FOR ICE ON ROADS AND OTHER PAVED SURFACES THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING...
Temperatures tonight will drop to 20 to 25 degrees in most areas
by daybreak Saturday. The cold temperatures will freeze any
meltwater or slush on untreated surfaces tonight. Secondary roads,
sidewalks, or driveways in shaded areas along with untreated
bridges and overpasses will likely have a covering of ice and
packed snow through Saturday morning.
Black ice is difficult to see and distinguish from dry surfaces.

...TRAVEL IMPACTS DUE TO ICE AND SNOW CONTINUE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO
SATURDAY MORNING...
Snow and ice that melts today will quickly refreeze this evening,
creating a renewed risk of icy and snow-packed roads and walkways
through Saturday morning. Icy spots could form on paved surfaces
such as bridges and overpasses, primary and secondary roads,
parking lots, and sidewalks and driveways.
While travel has improved some during the daylight hours,
conditions will quickly deteriorate after sunset Friday. For
shaded areas along roadways, sudden changes in road conditions are
possible, even during the daylight hours Friday and Saturday.
Motorists are advised to use extra caution. Allow ample distance
between yourself and other vehicles, to avoid the risk of a
collision where slippery conditions are encountered. Allow extra
time to reach your destination safely.
