...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHERN ORANGE AND WESTERN
WASHINGTON COUNTIES THROUGH 130 AM EDT...
At 1248 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 18 miles south of
Bloomington to near Bedford to 11 miles northwest of Salem. Movement
was south at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Salem, Paoli, Orleans, French Lick, Stampers Creek, Orangeville,
Campbellsburg, West Baden Springs, Hardinsburg, and Livonia.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
