.Rainfall amounts of up to 2.40 inches today in isolated locations
combined with two to nearly four inches over much of central and
southern Indiana yesterday is bring producing minor flooding to
portions of the East Fork White and middle to lower White River
basins. Minor flooding developing on the lower Wabash is possible as
well, but confidence is low there. Locally higher amounts may cause
rises that are higher than current crests indicate, and those with
interests along area rivers should keep updated with the latest
information as additional forecasts and warnings are issued.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

  - At 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 15.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday was 16.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late this evening and continue falling and remain below flood
    stage.

  levees.  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State
  Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by
  several feet.  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of
  flood occurs on average about once a year.

  to flood during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on
  very wet soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals
  at 15.5 feet and rising.

* IMPACTS...At 13.2 feet, Lowland flooding in progress along
  Driftwood River in northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011.
  Double Y Saddle Club area flooded. At least 6 inches of water
  flowing over CR 950N to Club. Water is less than one foot away
  from CR 330W just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR
  500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to
  residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is open
  but ramp is totally flooded. Water close to one residence at
  Shelby CR 1000S and CR 900W.

  - At 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 11.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

* IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Kelly`s Lake Lane, 1160N, is inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 29.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning to a crest of 32.0 feet Thursday morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage Friday evening.
  - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.

  Fredericksburg-Depauw Road near river.
  At 22.0 feet, Backroads in town flood. Water approaches US 150.
  At 23.0 feet, US 150 is closed.
  At 24.0 feet, Water surrounds some homes along backroads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 22.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 3:30 PM EDT Tuesday was 22.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 5.5 feet
    early Sunday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    22.2 feet on 04/06/2025.
