...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING
TO 6 AM CST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...A light mixture of snow and freezing rain.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central
Illinois.
* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 6 AM CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow accumulations will range from 1 to 3
inches north of the I-74 corridor: however, the primary hazard
will be light freezing rain mixing with the snow across much of
central Illinois. While ice accumulations will be minimal, a thin
glaze of ice could create slippery conditions on untreated
surfaces.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for Illinois can be obtained on the Internet at
www.gettingaroundillinois.com
Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
