...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...High temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees expected.
* WHERE...In California, northeast Siskiyou County and portions
of Modoc County. In Oregon, portions of the Klamath Basin and
southern ares in Klamath County and far southwestern Lake
County. This includes the communities of Klamath Falls,
Alturas, Tulelake, Tionesta, Beatty, Bly and Chiloquin.
* WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight temperatures will be warm as
well during this time period, and may limit relief from the
daytime heat. Cloud cover from anticipated
showers/thunderstorms may impact how warm temperatures get
during the day and how cool they get during the overnight
hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

PDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning, high temperatures
ranging from 104-108 degrees in the San Joaquin Valley and 99-
104 degrees in the Lower Sierra Nevada foothills, Kern River
Valley, and Coastal Range. For the Heat Advisory, high
temperatures of 101-106 degrees are forecast across the San
Joaquin Valley, with highs of 97-102 in the Lower Sierra
Nevada foothills, Kern River Valley, and Coastal Range.
* WHERE...San Joaquin Valley, Lower Sierra Nevada foothills,
Kern River Valley, and Coastal Range.
* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, from 11 AM this morning
to 11 PM PDT Wednesday. For the Heat Advisory, from 11 PM
Wednesday to 8 PM PDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the
potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those
working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm overnight lows will make those
susceptible to heat related illnesses at higher risk.
Overnight lows in the 74-79 degree range in urban areas
possible, with lows in the 68-73 range in rural areas.

* WHERE...Sacramento Valley, northern San Joaquin Valley, the
adjacent foothills, and the eastern Delta. Includes the cities
of Redding, Chico, Sacramento, Grass Valley, Stockton, and San
Andreas.
* WHEN...Through 8 PM PDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Widespread moderate to high heat risk expected. Hot
temperatures will significantly increase the potential for
heat- related illnesses, particularly for those working or
participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hottest days forecast to occur Today and
Wednesday. Warm overnight lows are expected through Friday
morning, ranging from 65 to 76 degrees in the Valley and 71 to
82 degrees in the foothills.
