Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Eastern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 400 PM CDT.
* At 1202 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Up to 2 inches of rainfall has occurred due to these storms in
northwestern Cook County. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Chicago, Cicero, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg,
Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Oak Lawn, Berwyn,
Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Oak Park, Downers Grove,
Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard and Buffalo Grove.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.

* At 1152 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
