...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Illinois, including the following
  county, northwestern Madison.

* WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 537 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban
    and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Alton, Edwardsville, Godfrey, Glen Carbon, Wood River,
    Bethalto, East Alton, South Roxana, Roxana, Hartford, West
    Alton, Rosewood Heights, Carpenter, Poag and Mitchell.
  - This includes Interstate 55 in Illinois near exit 23.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and east central Missouri, including
  the following counties, in central Missouri, Maries and Pulaski.
  In east central Missouri, Phelps.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 258 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Montague Creek at County Road 510, Maries River at County
    Road 621 and Montogue Creek at Highway E.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Dixon and Vienna.
