This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Another hot and humid day is forecast today, with afternoon and
early evening heat index values of 95 to 100 degrees.

The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a slight risk, level 2
of 5 for much of eastern Iowa and northeast Missouri. The
remainder of the area, generally along and east of the Mississippi
River is in a marginal, level 1 risk. The primary severe risk in
all areas today is damaging winds.

The forecast for storms today and tonight remains low confidence,
as a warm layer of air aloft and a front not arriving until early
Monday, result in a the potential for storms to be delayed until
late evening and overnight. Should storms not form until
overnight, the risk for severe storms, would be lower.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

Scattered thunderstorms are possible Monday. An isolated severe
storm is possible Monday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Storm spotter activation is possible this afternoon through
tonight, especially in eastern Iowa.

802 PM CDT Sat Jun 28 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated lightning risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected
overnight, especially east of the Highway 65 corridor. Rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches, with localized heavier amounts of 4 to
7 inches are expected east of a Lebanon to Gainesville line from
late tonight into Sunday morning. This will result in an elevated
risk for flash flooding. A few of the stronger storms will also
produce hail up to the size of pennies and wind gusts to 50 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

The risk for heavy rainfall and flash flooding will persist into
Sunday morning across the eastern Ozarks.

Additional widely scattered thunderstorms are then expected Sunday
afternoon. Confidence is then increasing that one or two
clusters of storms may then move southeast across the Ozarks
Sunday night. If this scenario materializes, there will be an
additional risk for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
There is also a marginal risk for damaging wind gusts up to 60
mph.

There is then a 60 to 80 percent chance for thunderstorms on
Monday, with the highest chances Monday morning. There is a
marginal risk for localized flash flooding in addition to wind
gusts up to 60 mph with the storms on Monday.

Daily shower and thunderstorm chances of 10 to 30 percent will
then occur Wednesday through Friday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
