...EXTREME COLD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH
MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, north winds 30 to 40 mph with
  gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Watch,
  dangerously cold wind chills as low as 4 below possible.

* WHERE...East Carteret County.

* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, from 4 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST
  Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Watch, from late Saturday night
  through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Scattered power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles. Frostbite and hypothermia
  will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
