A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Northerly Island...
  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid
Lake...

At 808 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated observations indicated a
gust front, capable of producing a northwesterly wind shift with
gusts up to 30 knots. This gust front was located along a line
extending from 7 nm west of Kenosha to 7 nm east of McHenry to near
Elgin, moving east at 25 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Winthrop Harbor, Montrose Harbor, Waukegan Harbor, Wilmette Harbor,
and Belmont Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
