Mississippi...

  Leaf Near McLain affecting Perry, Greene and George Counties.

For the Leaf River...including McLain, New Augusta...Minor flooding
is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, considerable flooding of agricultural and
  lowlands near the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 17.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    just after midnight tonight to a crest of 20.5 feet Sunday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday
    afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

  roads in low lying areas become cut off by high water.

  - At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 17.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 23.0 feet
    Monday evening.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...West Hobolochitto Creek near McNeil.

* WHEN...From late tonight to late Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Some roads in the county inundated but
  passable. Homes in Westchester Subdivision, Picayune will be
  threatened. Water over a few roads in the city of Picayune will
  cause traffic problems. School bus traffic may need alternate
  routes. Beech Street and Westchester Subdivision below the
  confluence of the east and west branches will be subject to
  flooding in low places.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 10.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tonight and continue rising to a crest of 17.0 feet
    tomorrow evening. The river is expected to fall below flood
    stage Sunday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Bogue Chitto River near Bush.

* WHEN...From late Saturday night to early Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The access road upstream of the bridge
  will flood. The river will leave the main channel on the left bank
  below the bridge flooding woodlands on either side of Louisiana
  Highway 21.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 8.7 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Sunday morning and continue rising to a crest of 11.5
    feet early Monday morning. The river is expected to fall
    below flood stage Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

MAY 16...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Pearl River near Pearl River.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon to Saturday, May 16.

* IMPACTS...At 15.5 feet, Secondary roads to the river and
  throughout Honey Island Swamp are inundated. Property in the
  vicinity of the gage is flooded threatening about 20 homes along
  the left bank. The Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge will be
  closed to hunting at the 15.5 foot stage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 13.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Sunday afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 15.0 feet
    Tuesday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood
    stage on Saturday, May 16.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
  will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management area will be
  inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 17.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening and continue rising to a crest of 19.5 feet
    tomorrow evening. The river is expected to fall below flood
    stage on Friday, May 15.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
